About shelf / mirror / picture installation
Shelf, mirror and picture installation in Singapore starts from $45 at SG QuickFix for the first picture or a standard wall shelf. Each additional picture starts from $20, floating shelves from $50 each, small mirrors from $50 and large or heavy mirrors from $80. Tile, marble or granite drilling adds $40 to $60 per job.
Most visits take 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on how many items there are and the wall type. Booking several items in one visit costs less than separate visits, because additional pictures and drill holes are priced lower.

Which anchor does your wall need?
The fixing must suit both the wall and the load. Concrete and brick walls take standard wall plugs or expansion anchors. BTO partition walls are Severe Duty grade drywall, which holds shelves and mirrors with suitable drywall anchors; HDB leaves a set of sample anchors in the household shelter. Some flats have Ferrolite partitions, where HDB allows up to 50 kg per bolt depending on the anchor.
In all HDB flats, HDB limits wall fasteners to 6 mm in diameter and 40 mm in penetration depth. Floating shelves put the most strain on a wall, because the load levers on hidden brackets, so keep heavy books and appliances on bracket shelves instead.
Shelves and mirrors in HDB flats, condos and landed homes
- HDB flats: household shelter walls allow only shallow fixings, up to 50 mm deep with non-metallic inserts and removable screws, and areas with concealed wiring should be avoided. HDB restricts heavy or excessive drilling to weekdays between 9am and 5pm.
- Condos: management may set drilling hours, and some feature walls are panels over a gap. Heavy mirrors are fixed through to the solid wall behind.
- Landed homes: older plaster and brick can crumble at the surface, so longer anchors are used for heavy items.
Common problems
Shelf sags or pulls away from the wall: the anchors don't suit the wall type or the load. Refixing with the right anchors solves it. Picture or mirror hangs crooked: a single hook lets it tilt; two fixing points keep it level. Drill slips or cracks tiles: glazed tiles need a tile bit and a slow start. Wall plug spins in the hole: the hole is too big or the wall is hollow behind. A larger or different anchor is needed. Heavy mirror with no hanging hardware: it needs mirror clips, a French cleat or a backing board. Adhesive hooks keep falling off: Singapore's humidity weakens many adhesives, especially in bathrooms. A screwed fixing lasts longer. Bathroom racks that rust or loosen: often fixed with the wrong screws for a wet area. Stainless steel screws and sealed holes last longer.
What the work covers
We check the wall type and look out for concealed wiring and pipes before drilling, then mark the positions with you so items are level and evenly spaced. Each item is fixed with anchors suited to the wall and the load, checked for level and tested by hand. Drilling dust is cleared when the job is done.

FAQs
At SG QuickFix, small mirror installation starts from $50 and large or heavy mirrors from $80. Tile, marble or granite walls add $40 to $60 per job. The mirror is fixed with clips, brackets or a cleat suited to its weight and the wall.
Yes, with suitable drywall anchors, but keep the load light. Floating shelves lever their weight onto hidden brackets, so a heavy load can pull them away from a partition wall. For books or appliances, bracket shelves on a concrete wall are stronger. Floating shelves start from $50 each.
It depends on the wall and the anchor. Concrete walls hold heavy loads with the right anchors. HDB says BTO drywall can support common fixtures with appropriate anchors, and Ferrolite partitions take up to 50 kg per bolt. Tell us the item's weight so the right fixing is used.
Every screw leaves a small hole, but a neat drill hole is easy to patch later. Adhesive hooks avoid holes but often fail in Singapore's humidity, especially under heavier frames. In a rented home, ask your landlord before drilling.
Yes. Tile, marble and granite need special bits and slow drilling to avoid cracks, which adds $40 to $60 per job. Holes are placed away from concealed pipes, and fixings in wet areas are sealed.
Yes. The first picture starts from $45, but each additional picture starts from $20, and extra drill holes cost $5 to $10 each in the same visit. Grouping shelves, mirrors and pictures into one booking costs less than separate visits.
Have the items, their brackets and any fixings that came with them ready, and decide roughly where each one should go. If you know the wall type, such as concrete, drywall or tile, tell us when you book.
