What the team does

The technician removes the old knob set and checks the latch and the bore hole in the door. Most knobs share a standard hole size, so a new knob usually fits the existing holes. The new knob and latch are fitted, the strike plate is checked so the latch catches cleanly, and the knob and any privacy lock are tested from both sides.

Limits & price factors

The knob is charged on top of the labour price. Enlarging holes for a different lock type, filling old holes and repainting are not included.

The price covers one standard cylindrical or tubular knob. Converting a knob door to a lever handle with a different backplate, or fitting a knob to a door with a damaged edge, can take longer. A knob locked from the inside can usually be opened first without damage.
