About cabinet / furniture
Cabinet repair in Singapore starts from $50 at SG QuickFix for hinge adjustment, drawer adjustment or handle replacement (plus the handle). Replacing a cabinet hinge starts from $60 plus the hinge, with each additional hinge from $20 in the same visit. Drawer runner replacement starts from $60 plus the runner. Most cabinet repairs take 30 to 90 minutes.
Kitchen and wardrobe cabinets in Singapore homes are mostly laminated chipboard or plywood with concealed hinges. Doors drop as hinges loosen, drawers jam as runners wear, and humidity can swell exposed edges. Most of this can be repaired without replacing the cabinet.

Should a cabinet hinge be adjusted or replaced?
Most cabinet doors use concealed, European-style hinges with adjustment screws: one moves the door left and right, one in and out, and on many hinges a third moves it up and down. A door that sags or rubs usually only needs adjusting. Replace the hinge when its arm is bent, the spring is broken, the soft-close damper no longer works, or the screws have torn out of the chipboard.
When screws have stripped the chipboard, the holes are repaired or the hinge is moved to fresh material; otherwise a new hinge will soon work loose again.
Cabinets in HDB flats, condos and landed homes
Built-in kitchen and wardrobe cabinets in HDB flats and condos are usually made by the renovation contractor's carpenter, so they use standard hinges and runners that are easy to match. IKEA and other branded kitchens may need the brand's own parts. In landed homes and older flats, solid timber cabinets can warp in humid weather, which affects how the doors line up.
Common problems
Cabinet door sags or sits unevenly: the hinge screws have loosened or the hinge has shifted. Adjusting the hinge usually fixes it. Door won't stay closed or keeps popping open: a weak hinge spring or a misaligned door. Soft-close no longer works: the damper in the hinge or the add-on buffer has failed and is replaced. Hinge torn out of the door: the chipboard around the hinge cup has broken. The holes are repaired or the hinge is moved. Drawer sticks, drops or won't close: worn or broken runners, or a runner that has come loose from the side panel. Wardrobe doors don't line up: the hinges need adjusting after the wardrobe has settled or been moved. Loose handles or broken knobs: worn screws or stripped holes; the handle is refixed or replaced. Wobbly furniture: loose joints, cam locks or legs on chairs, tables and cabinets.
What the work covers
We check each door and drawer, adjust what can be adjusted, and replace hinges, runners or handles only where they are worn or broken. Replacement parts are matched to the existing hinge type, cup size and runner length where possible. Doors are aligned so the gaps are even, and every door and drawer is tested for smooth opening and closing.

Pricing & conditions
Prices start from $50 for adjustments and handle replacement. Replacement hinges, runners and handles are charged on top of labour, as shown by "+ hinge", "+ runner" or "+ handle" on each card. Additional hinges in the same visit start from $20 each, so it is worth fixing several doors in one visit. The price is confirmed before work starts.
Not included in the listed prices: new cabinet doors, carcasses or countertops, and new carpentry.
FAQs
At SG QuickFix, cabinet hinge adjustment starts from $50. Replacing a hinge starts from $60 plus the hinge, and each additional hinge in the same visit from $20. Drawer adjustment starts from $50 and drawer runner replacement from $60 plus the runner.
Usually, yes. Concealed hinges have adjustment screws that move the door sideways, in and out, and on many hinges up and down. If the door still sags after adjusting, the hinge or its screws are worn, or the chipboard has broken around them.
Screws in chipboard gradually loosen as a door is opened thousands of times, especially heavy doors on only two hinges. Once the holes are stripped, tightening won't hold. Repairing the holes, adding a hinge or moving the hinge to fresh material gives a lasting fix.
Yes. A drawer that sticks, drops or won't close usually has a worn or loose runner. Adjustment starts from $50, and replacing the runner from $60 plus the part. Runners come in different lengths and types, so the old one is measured first.
Often, yes. Soft-close hinges can replace standard concealed hinges when the cup size and position match, or add-on buffers can be fitted to existing hinges. Each new hinge is priced as a hinge replacement.
Adjusting a few hinges takes 15 to 30 minutes. Replacing hinges or runners on one or two doors or drawers takes 30 to 60 minutes. A kitchen with several worn hinges may take one to two hours.
Yes. IKEA and other branded cabinets mostly use standard concealed hinges and runners, though some need the brand's own parts. Send a photo of the hinge or runner on WhatsApp so the right part can be prepared.
