Toilet Fill Valve Replacement in Singapore

Toilet fill valve replacement starts from $80 in labour at SG QuickFix, with the new valve charged separately. The fill valve, also called the inlet or ball valve, refills the cistern after a flush and shuts off at the right level. A valve that hisses, refills slowly or lets water run into the overflow is replaced in about 30 to 45 minutes.

Task guide

When this may be needed

  • The cistern hisses or keeps topping up after it is full.
  • The cistern takes several minutes to refill.
  • Water runs into the overflow and the bowl.
  • The fill valve is noisy or vibrates.
  • The float is broken or stuck.

What the team does

The technician shuts the angle valve, flushes to empty the cistern and checks the fill valve and the water level. If the valve is clogged with grit, cleaning may be enough. Otherwise, the old valve is removed from under the cistern, a matching or universal valve is fitted with a new seal, and the inlet hose reconnected. The water level is set below the overflow, and the cistern is flushed several times to check it fills and shuts off cleanly.

Included in this price

  • Checking whether cleaning or replacement is needed
  • Removing the old fill valve
  • Fitting the new valve and reconnecting the hose
  • Setting the water level and testing

Limits & price factors

The valve is charged on top of labour. A worn flush valve seal, which also causes running toilets, is a separate repair. Concealed cisterns with brand-specific parts may need the part ordered.

The labour price starts from $80. Concealed cisterns reached through the flush plate, brand-specific valves and corroded connections take longer.
