How much does TV bracket installation cost in Singapore?

TV bracket installation at SG QuickFix costs from $70 for TVs up to 43 inches, and the price rises with screen size.

SG QuickFix TV mounting prices by screen size
TV screen sizeMounting price
Up to 43 inchesFrom $70
44 to 55 inchesFrom $80
56 to 65 inchesFrom $100
66 to 75 inchesFrom $120
Above 75 inchesFrom $150

Size sets the price because a bigger screen is heavier and wider. It needs a stronger bracket, more fixings and more care getting level across the full width. Any wall-mounted TV is safer hung by two people; above about 65 inches it is essential.

The size price covers mounting the TV on a bracket you supply, levelled and load-tested, on a concrete, brick or partition wall. See the TV mounting service for everything included, or the full handyman price list for Singapore for other jobs.

What adds to the TV mounting price?

Four things add to the size price: removing an old TV, hiding cables, a tile or marble wall, and a bracket supplied by SG QuickFix.

Mounting a bracket you supply is included in the size price.

Some related jobs sit outside TV mounting. HDB requires wiring work, including a new power point behind the TV, to be done by a licensed electrical worker. SG QuickFix lists power points under power socket installation; relocating one costs from $150. Filling the holes left by an old bracket is a wall repair and patching job. Each job is priced separately.

Does your wall type change the price?

Only tile, marble and other special finishes add a surcharge; concrete, brick and partition walls carry no wall surcharge. If a partition needs reinforcing for a 75-inch-plus or full-motion TV, that is confirmed from your wall photo first.

How each HDB wall type takes a TV bracket
Wall typeHow the bracket is fixedWhat to watch
Reinforced concreteMasonry anchors in holes drilled with a hammer drillConcealed conduits run straight up, down and sideways from sockets and switches
Hollow block or brickPlugs sized for hollow masonryOversized holes or over-tightening can crumble the hollow cores
BTO drywall partitionHDB-listed heavy-duty anchors, such as the E-Z ToggleHDB rates these under 25kg per fixing point; 75-inch-plus or full-motion TVs usually need reinforcing
Ferrolite partitionAnchor bolts rated by HDB per bolt20kg per steel cavity anchor; 50kg per M10 anchor rod set in mortar
Tile or marble finishTile or diamond bit without hammer action, then a masonry bitSlower drilling and a risk of cracking the tile
Household shelter wallNot recommendedDrilling is restricted by HDB

For BTO partitions, the Housing & Development Board (HDB) uses Severe Duty grade drywall and leaves sample anchors in the household shelter "for installing wall cabinets, television sets, and other fixtures" (MyNiceHome: features of your new flat). HDB's Drywall User Guide lists televisions under its heavy-duty anchors. Keep the samples for the installer. The weight limits for hollow walls are covered in mounting a TV on an HDB partition wall.

On Ferrolite walls, HDB's ratings depend on the anchor type, and HDB asks for no drilling within 200mm below ceilings or beams and a drill penetration of about 22mm (HDB: important information on renovations).

Fixed, tilt or full-motion: which TV bracket do you need?

A fixed bracket suits most living rooms; choose tilt for a TV mounted high, and full-motion only for corners or rooms viewed from two places.

TV bracket types compared
BracketBest forTrade-off
FixedA screen at seated eye level, flat against the wallNo angle adjustment; ports are harder to reach
TiltBedroom TVs mounted high, or glare from a windowSits slightly further from the wall
Full-motion (swivel)Corners, open-plan rooms, several seating anglesThe arm levers the TV's weight onto the fixings, so it needs concrete or a reinforced wall

Whichever type you choose, check two figures before buying. The bracket must list your TV's VESA pattern, the spacing of the screw holes on the back, and a load rating above the TV's weight without its stand. Use the screw length in the TV manual, allowing for any spacers, because over-long screws can damage the TV.

How is a Samsung The Frame installed?

Samsung's The Frame comes with Samsung's Slim Fit Wall Mount, which holds the TV almost flush; Samsung lists a 0–15mm gap. Samsung also asks for at least two people to install it, and three for 82 inches and larger. Before drilling, decide where the One Connect box will sit, because every cable runs to it. The Frame Pro's Wireless One Connect box can sit up to 10m away in the same room, though Samsung says the range varies and walls can block it. On drywall, treat the Slim Fit mount like any fixed bracket: heavy-duty anchors up to about 65 inches, and reinforcement for 75 inches and above.

How much does it cost to mount a TV and hide the wires?

Basic cable management (+$20) tidies the cables, on top of the mounting price for your TV size. Longer runs or other options are confirmed from your wall photo.

In HDB flats, the cables can't simply be buried in the wall. HDB does not allow wiring to be embedded in reinforced concrete walls or wall plaster. Covering wiring with PVC trunking needs no HDB permit, and all wiring work must be done by an Energy Market Authority (EMA) licensed electrical worker (HDB: electrical works). That leaves four practical options:

  • A surface cable cover from the TV down to the sockets, painted to match the wall. This is the most common choice.
  • AV cables run inside a hollow drywall partition, with the openings kept clear of the wiring above the socket.
  • A TV console below the screen that hides the cables and set-top boxes.
  • A new power point behind the TV, installed by a licensed electrical worker.

Don't drill directly above the TV power socket: that is where its concealed conduit runs. Never run extension cords inside a wall cavity. HDB also says the original TV point must not be tampered with and must stay accessible.

Should you mount a TV yourself?

Up to 55 inches on a fixed bracket and a known wall is fair DIY; bigger TVs, tile, marble, Ferrolite or full-motion suit a pro.

Safe to DIY if…Call a professional if…
The TV is up to 55 inches and the bracket is fixedThe TV is above 55 inches or needs two people to lift
You've identified the wall (concrete, brick, or drywall with heavy-duty anchors) and own the right drill and a detectorThe wall is Ferrolite, tile or marble, or you can't identify the wall type
You can keep every hole out of the no-drill strips above, below and beside each socket and switchYou want a full-motion bracket
You only need a stick-on cable coverYou need a new or moved power point: an EMA licensed electrical worker only, never DIY

The most common DIY mistakes are plastic plugs in drywall, drilling directly above a socket or beside a switch, the wrong VESA screw length and hammer mode on tile.

How do you get an accurate TV mounting price?

Send a photo of the wall, your TV model and your bracket details: those three decide the price. Before the visit, prepare:

  • The TV brand and model, so the weight and VESA pattern can be checked.
  • Your bracket, or a note that you need one supplied.
  • A wall photo that shows the sockets, switches and TV point.
  • Where you sit: the centre of the screen should be at or slightly below seated eye level, about 100–110cm from the floor for a 55-inch TV.
  • The sample anchors from the household shelter, in a BTO flat.
  • A clear path to the wall.

For tiled or marble walls, book a weekday; the rules are explained in HDB drilling hours.
