Task guide
When this may be needed
- The tank is leaking from its body.
- The water takes much longer to heat than before.
- The heater trips the power.
- Rusty water comes from the hot taps.
- The heater is old and you want a 5-tick model.
What the team does
The technician switches off the heater at its double pole switch, isolates the cold supply and drains the tank, which takes time on a large tank. The old tank is disconnected and taken down. The new tank is mounted on secure brackets, connected with its pressure relief valve, and filled completely before power is switched on. Every hot water point is then tested and the connections checked for leaks.
