Lock Replacement
Lock Cylinder Replacement in Singapore
A lock cylinder is replaced from $70 in labour at SG QuickFix, with the new cylinder charged separately. Changing only the cylinder is the quickest way to stop old keys working after you move in, change tenants or lose a key, as long as the rest of the lock is sound. Most cylinder changes take 20 to 40 minutes.

Task guide
When this may be needed
- You have moved into a resale flat or rented home and don't know who has keys.
- A key has been lost or not returned by a tenant, helper or contractor.
- The key is stiff, sticks or only turns with jiggling.
- The key has snapped in the lock.
- You want one key for the main door and the gate.
What the team does
The technician identifies the lock type and measures the cylinder, because euro, oval and rim cylinders come in different sizes and lengths. The retaining screw is removed, the old cylinder is taken out with the key in the right position, and a new cylinder of the correct length is fitted. A cylinder that sticks out too far is easier to attack, so the length is matched to the door. Every new key is tested from both sides.
Included in this price

Limits & price factors
The cylinder is charged on top of the labour price. A lock body that is worn or broken is replaced under Mortise lock replacement or a lockset task, and gates with welded or non-standard locks are quoted on site.
The labour price covers one standard cylinder. Keying the main door and gate alike, high-security cylinders and a broken key that must be extracted first take longer. Send a photo of the lock on WhatsApp so the right cylinder can be prepared.
