Choke Clearing

Recurring Drain Blockage Clearing in Singapore

Deep or recurring blockages are cleared from $150 at SG QuickFix. When a sink, floor trap or toilet keeps choking weeks after it was cleared, the blockage is usually further down the branch pipe, often hardened grease or a build-up at a bend. These jobs take one to two hours, using augers or a powered snake to reach and clear the whole run.

Task guide

When this may be needed

  • The kitchen sink chokes again within weeks of being cleared.
  • Several fittings in the same bathroom drain slowly.
  • A floor trap gurgles when the basin or shower drains.
  • Water backs up into one fitting when another is used.
  • Plunging clears the choke for a few days only.

What the team does

The technician checks which fittings are affected to work out where the blockage sits. The nearest access point, such as a trap, floor trap or cleanout, is opened, and the branch pipe is cleared with a manual auger or a powered snake, working through the full length rather than just punching a hole through the blockage. Each fitting is then run with plenty of water to check the whole branch flows. You are told what caused the build-up and how to reduce it.

Included in this price

Limits & price factors

Blockages in the main sanitary stack are the town council's responsibility in HDB blocks. Replacing damaged pipes, CCTV pipe inspection and hacking floors are not included.

The price starts from $150. Long pipe runs, several affected fittings and hard grease deposits take longer. If the blockage is in the main stack, you are told to contact the town council.
