Power Socket Installation & Repair

Concealed Wiring Installation in Singapore

Concealed new wiring is quoted after a site visit at SG QuickFix. Running a new cable inside a wall or above a false ceiling, instead of in surface trunking, looks cleaner but needs chasing walls or access above the ceiling, and some HDB walls must not be hacked. The route, the wall types and any permit needs are checked before a price is given.

Task guide

When this may be needed

  • You don't want visible trunking for a new power point.
  • A renovation is opening walls and ceilings anyway.
  • A TV wall needs a hidden power point behind the TV.
  • A false ceiling gives a route for new light points.
  • Surface trunking from a previous job looks untidy.

What the team does

The technician surveys the route from the distribution board or nearest suitable circuit to the new point, and checks the wall types. In HDB flats, household shelter walls must not be hacked, and HDB asks owners to avoid areas with concealed wiring. Where a concealed route is possible, the wall is chased or the cable run above the false ceiling in conduit, the point fitted, and the circuit tested. The site quote sets out the route, the making-good and what is not included.

Included in this price

  • A site survey of the route and wall types
  • A written quote with the route and making-good
  • Running cable in conduit inside walls or above ceilings
  • Fitting and testing the new point

Limits & price factors

Plastering and painting after chasing are quoted separately or left to your contractor. Hacking household shelter walls is not done, and HDB permit applications are not included.

The price depends on the length of the route, the wall material, the number of points and how much making-good is needed. Routes above existing false ceilings are usually quicker than chasing concrete.
